Jurgen Klopp has a plan B in case of injuries

This season of the Premier League is reaching its final 2 months and a few of Liverpool’s key players have recently sustained injuries which might keep them out of the pitch for a long period of time.

These players that have recently picked up injuries are: Sado Mane, Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana.

In spite of all these injuries, JurgenKlopp has stated that his team will simply have to adapt for the remainder of the season or for at least until his key players can fully recover and get back into the pitch.

“If we miss two or three offensive options, we have to adapt to it – we cannot try to do all the same. The line-up we will choose, we have to use this session today, to make them as strong, as compact and as ugly to play as possible, and then go’’

“We should think about how we can defend, not how dominant we can be. Maybe we can surprise one of the other teams with good organization, good defending, and good counter-attacks. Why not? We only have to adapt, and that’s the thing we have to do today. My job is to find solutions’’ Liverpool’s JurgenKlopp said. Continue reading →

MATIP LIKELY TO MISS LIVERPOOL’S NEXT SIX MATCHES

Cameroon defender, Joel Matip could further miss six additional Liverpool games as his rumble with the Cameroon Football Federation continues.

Following to his refusal to honour a call-up to the provisional roster of AFCON-bound Cameroon, the country’s Football Federation is adamant Matip shouldn’t be permitted to play for Liverpool for the duration of the African Soccer Fiesta.

The former Schalke 04 centre-back was withdrawn from Jurgen Klopp’s squad to face Manchester United on Sunday after the Reds were frustrated in their bid to secure clearance from FIFA. However the 25-year old, who has not featured for Cameroon since September 2015, considers himself retired from international football and had always made it clear that he wasn’t available for selection.

Liverpool have been infuriated by FIFA’s failure to provide any clarity on the situation. The World football governing body have merely stated that if the Reds were to play Matip without Cameroon’s permission then it could lead to disciplinary actions been taken. Continue reading →

SOUTHAMPTON TO LOSE MORE PLAYERS

Southampton are set to lose more players when the transfer window re-opens or at the end of the season as interests in two defenders soar.

The Saints could lose Virgil van Dijk and Jose Fonte to Liverpool and Manchester United respectively. The central defensive pairing have been impressive this term but with top clubs keen on landing the players, Southampton might have a situation on their hands in keeping the players for much longer.

Talks with Euro 2016 winner, Fonte has stalled despite reports that the player’s rep and the club started discussions about a new deal since August. The current deal is set to lapse in 2018, meaning the player has to sign a new one soon else the club would be forced to get the best of the situation by trading him. The Red Devils approached the south coast side for a deal regarding the 32-year old during the summer but coach Claude Puel – who took over after former boss Ronald Koeman moved to Everton – refused to sanction the deal with the transfer deadline close. THIEVES STEAL EUROPA LEAGUE TICKETS AT LIVERPOOL CITY CENTRE OFFICE

Ahead of the final of the 2015/2016 Europa League against Spanish opposition, Sevilla, on Wednesday May 18th, thieves broke into the city centre office and made away with the tickets for the game.

Sneak thieves walked into Liverpool FC’s city centre offices and stole dozens of ‘gold dust’ tickets for Wednesday night’s Europa League final. The theft took place on Friday at the club’s offices on Chapel Street.

It is believed that the club has promised that all fans who bought tickets from official channels will be able to get into the game. Detectives in Liverpool have now released CCTV of three men they wish to trace following the theft. Officers were called at around 3.30pm to reports two men had entered the Liverpool Football Club office on Chapel Street, one stealing Europa League final tickets, which were in envelopes waiting to be passed on to the legitimate ticket holders.

Chief Superintendent Jon Ward said:

“As well as urging anyone who has any information about this incident to come forward, I would also like to take the opportunity to remind Liverpool fans not to buy tickets from unofficial sources. The force understands the stolen tickets are no longer valid and will not provide access to the stadium. Continue reading →

KEVIN STEWART IMPRESSES FOR LIVERPOOL

The 22-year old talent plying his trade with Liverpool impressed Jurgen Klopp with his performance against Stoke City. Kevin Stewart was handed his full premier league debut in the match as The Reds rounded up their opponents in a 4-1 victory to boost their chances for UEFA Europa League next season.

Liverpool are in 8th position in the English Premier League table with 48 points but with two games in hand. Southampton are 7th position on the log with only two points above The Reds while West Ham in 6th are four points clear from Liverpool though with a game in hand.

Kevin Stewart came through for Liverpool after suffering ankle ligament damage in training two months ago.

After the game, he told reporters: “There were a few mistakes in there which I’ll need to learn from but overall I think it went well. I tried a bit towards the end but that was down to not having played much recently. I’ll get that fitness back.”

He continued with the advice of Klopp.

“The manager told me to keep things simple – to be aggressive, to be confident and to defend well. He takes the pressure off players and gives you the belief to go out there and perform. I do get nervous but I think a few nerves keeps me aware and on my toes. The manager has shown a lot of faith in me and that gives me confidence. I need to keep improving and listening to him.” Continue reading →

Liverpool completed the signing of Christian Benteke but Rodgers wants more

Brendan Rodgers is having an active and busy summer transfer window as he has already signed: Adam Bogdan, Nathaniel Clyne, Danny Ings and James Milner. These are just a few of the high-profile signings that have recently arrived to Anfield.

Even with all of these new signings, Brendan Rodgers still seems to be interested in adding more players to the team and Liverpool are now setting their sights on Marco Reus from Borussia Dortmund.

Signing Marco Reus will be easier said than done as Real Madrid is also keeping a close eye on the German midfielder. Brendan Rodgers received an injection of cash of €49 million after having sold Raheem Sterling and this money might be used as a way to lure in Marco Reus to Anfield but it still remains uncertain if that cash will be enough to sign the 26 year old midfielder who has also attracted the attention of Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United.

Brendan Rodgers received a lot of hate from Liverpool fans after he decided to sell Luis Suarez and replaced him with a bunch of players who have done nothing except disappoint and Mario Balotelli commands that list, Rodgers still hasn’t appropriately found a player who can replace Luis Suarez but he is hoping that this gap will be filled in some way or another by signing Marco Reus and the English manager is prepared to spend big bucks in securing his services.
