Liverpool FC have lost out on the bid to sign Leicester City play maker Danny Drinkwater, the player agreed to a new deal that spans five years.
The England international was linked with a move to play under Coach Jurgen Klopp but he opted to remain at King Power Stadium.
Drinkwater was instrumental last term, helping Leicester City upturn their 5000 to 1 odds in lifting the Premier League. He contributed just three goals and eight assists to the title win, but his performance in the 35 games he played were crucial. Liverpool and Tottenham were the top sides poised to land him, but he decided to continue with his employer, committing himself till 2021.
“I’ve loved playing for this club, it’s been perfect for me and my career and I want to be here for a long time to come. I couldn’t be happier. I’ve grown a lot as a player and a person in the last four years and Leicester City has been a massive part of that,” Drinkwater said.
